COLUMBIA The highlight of Friday night's high school football games was something that didn't happen. The referees were nowhere to be seen when game time rolled around in Ashland as Southern Boone County was set to play Hallsville.

A scheduling error by the Missouri State High School Activities Association created a three-hour delay. Fans were given free re-entry tickets. It's the second scheduling snafu in three weeks.

Two Columbia teams facd off in this week's Game of the Week. Last season's state champ, Battle High School, eked out a 27-20 over powerhouse Rock Bridge Bruins.

Tweet your game photos to @komunews or @komusports. Instagram works too, @komunews. Next week, we'll be debuting our Snapchat account. Add us at KOMU_FNF.

Some teams racked up final numbers that resembled basketball scores. Fulton dominated MMA 69-0, while Paris blanked North Shelby with 61 points. Centralia scored 72 against Louisiana's 19.

Our live blog (below) includes scores and photos from across the region. Items appear below in reverse chronological order with the newest on top.
