COLUMBIA - The first week of Friday Night Fever kicked off Friday with a break in the summer heat amidst excitement for a new season of high school.

See scores.

A matchup this week between the Boonville Pirates and the California Pintos marked this fall's first Game of the Week. It was a tight game throughout with Boonville prevailing by a single field goal.

Another notable game was Blair Oaks vs. Moberly. Both teams won games in their district tournaments for Class 3 and 4, respectively. Blair Oaks racked up a sizable victory at 42-18.

Next week, tweet your game photos to @komunews or @komusports. Instagram works too, @komunews.

This live blog includes scores and photos from across the region. Items appear below in reverse chronological order with the newest on top.
