Folsom Rape Charges Dismissed
The judge agreed that there was no probable cause for Folsom to have committed the crime after the babysitter who made the accusations recently recanted her story.
"We trusted her with our children," Folsom said, "we trusted her mother with our children, and they really let us down. They really hurt us there."
Folsom says he and his family were completely devastated by the accusations, completely changing their way of life.
"Financially, it overwhelmed us. We're used to, 'When we want something we go get it.' Now it's, 'If we want something, do we have the money to go get it?' " said Folsom.
The Folsom family could not stop saying how thankful and grateful they are to the community that stuck with them.
"You hear about it on TV all the time, but you never know when it's going to hit so close to home. The people in the Stover community stood behind us head and toe," said Folsom.
Folsom is turning his shock and embarrassment into anger. Not only was the accusation hard for him, it affected his wife and daughters too. Still, Folsom is unsure as to whether or not he will seek legal action against the babysitter who is now eighteen years of age.
After this nine month absence, Folsom plans on resuming his attendance of Morgan County school board meetings.
