COLUMBIA - College football Hall of Fame coach Bobby Bowden made a visit to Columbia tonight to speak to the Fellowship of Christian Athletes.

Bowden coached for 40 years at the major college level, six years at West Virginia and 34 years at Florida State. He won two national title's with the Seminoles and won nearly 400 games. The FCA presents an annual award in Bowden's name, honoring a college football player for his achievements on the field, in the classroom, and in the community.

"And I coached 57 straight years you know it, and then last year for the first time I wasn't coaching and boy the pressure is off you know it. I don't have to worry about grades, I don't have to worry about conduct, I didn't have to worry about that 2 o'clock phone call from the police, I didn't have to worry about recruiting that great player," said Bowden.
