Former high school coach pleads guilty in sex case
ST. LOUIS (AP) - A former assistant basketball coach at a St. Louis high school has pleaded guilty to transporting a female student across state lines to have sex.
A federal prosecutor says 26-year-old Sashane Chin entered the plea on Monday to one felony count of transporting a minor with the intent to engage in sexual activity.
She was hired in 2013 as the assistant coach for the girls' basketball team at Gateway STEM High School.
Prosecutors say she began contacting a 17-year-old student in March. They say she twice took the girl to her home in Venice, Illinois, for sex.
It's unclear if the student was on the basketball team.
Chin faces up to 20 years in prison during sentencing in January.
