Former Mo. Rep. Casey Dies after Falling
ST. LOUIS (AP) - Gov. Jay Nixon is among those mourning the death of a former Missouri lawmaker from eastern Missouri.
Relatives of former Democratic Rep. Ron Casey, of Crystal City, told the St. Louis Post-Dispatch that he died Sunday from a head injury he suffered in a fall a few days earlier.
Casey was 61. He left office in January 2013 after serving for eight years in the Missouri House.
Nixon said Monday that Casey was a loyal friend who lived out his faith every day and was a dedicated public servant.
Before winning election to the Legislature, Casey served as a Jefferson County commissioner for 12 years.
