Former Osage County sheriff pleads guilty for gun incident
BOONE COUNTY - The former Osage County sheriff seen pointing a gun at a man at a bar has pleaded guilty to a misdemeanor charge.
Michael Dixon pleaded guilty to a misdemeanor peace disturbance charge and must pay a $500 fine, as well as court fees.
Prosecutors charged Dixon with unlawful use of a weapon while intoxicated in 2016 after accusations of misconduct at a Hartsburg bar.
The Boone County Sheriff's Department said Dixon was intoxicated and handling a loaded handgun in a negligent manner while inside the Hitching Post bar in Hartsburg on March 5, 2016.
Boone County Assistant Prosecutor Brouck Jacobs said Dixon has no further obligations.
Jacobs said it is good Dixon will no longer be in law enforcement.
