Former Priest Faces Another Sex Abuse Suit
ST. LOUIS - A former St. Louis-area priest is facing his 20th lawsuit over allegations of sexual abuse. The Survivors Network of those Abused by Priests, or SNAP, announced the suit against the Rev. Michael McGrath on Thursday afternoon outside the offices of the St. Louis archdiocese. The alleged victim says he was molested when he was a 9- or 10-year-old altar boy at St. Ferdinand Catholic School in Florissant nearly 30 years ago. SNAP says 15 of the 19 others who sued McGrath settled their suits with the archdiocese. No criminal charges were brought against McGrath, who worked at several St. Louis-area parishes.
