Former St. Louis-area teacher accused of molesting student
CLAYTON (AP) - A former suburban St. Louis high school teacher is accused of sexual misconduct with a female student.
The St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports that St. Louis County prosecutors have charged 38-year-old Robert Woerheide with one count each of sexual contact with a student and second-degree child molestation.
Court documents say that the alleged victim was a student of Woerheide's at Valley Park High School and was younger than 17.
The Valley Park school system's spokeswoman, Kathy Josephsohn, says Woerheide was a communication arts teacher who had been with the district no more than two years before he resigned March 18.
Woerheide was arrested Tuesday.
Online court records do not show whether Woerheide has an attorney who can comment on his behalf.
