Former St. Louis QB Kurt Warner to be Honored with Arizona
TEMPE, Ariz.- Former St. Louis Rams Quarterback Kurt Warner can now add another recognition to his long list of NFL accomplishments.
Warner will become the 14th player in Arizona Cardinals history to be inducted into the organization's Ring of Honor.
The ceremony will occur during the team's season opener against the San Diego Chargers on Monday Night Football, Sept. 8.
Warner led Arizona to two NFC West titles and a Super Bowl apppearance in his short stint for the team from 2005 through 2009.
He also led the Rams to a Super Bowl victory in January of 2000 against the Tennessee Titans.
Before he brought a title to the St. Louis, Warner stocked shelves at a Hy-Vee Grocery Store before finally getting a chance to play football in the Arena League.
He then got an opportunity to start at quarterback for the Rams during the 1999 season.
During his rookie year, he became the seventh player in league history to win both league MVP and Super Bowl MVP awards in the same season.
