Fourth of July Holiday Starts Early in Mid- Missouri

HOLTS SUMMIT - The Fourth of July Holiday kicked off in Holts Summit Wednesday night. Events started around 5 p.m. at Greenway Park and fireworks will begin around 9:30. Entertainment includes live music, games and food.

More Fourth of July Events will occur all around Mid-Missouri Thursday.

Downtown Jefferson City will host several events on the holiday including live music and carnival rides. The events run from 11 a.m. until 11 p.m.

In Columbia, the 61st annual Fourth of July celebration will be held at Peace Park and Flat Branch Park. Local musicians and the Hickman High School Choir will perform. The event starts at 6:30 p.m. and fireworks will begin at 9:15.

Several venues at the Lake of the Ozarks are hosting music groups throuhgout the holiday weekend. Bret Michaels will perform at H. Toads on Thursday evening, Members Only will perform at Shady Gators Thursday as well. In addition, the Bear Bottom Resort and Tan Tar A resort will have fireworks, both can be seen from many areas around the lake.
