FULTON - The Fulton Fire Department was able to rescue a sewage worker Monday morning after he was stuck waist-deep in trench for nearly two hours.
The department said around 10:45 a.m., firefighters headed to Country Club Drive, where the worker was doing contract work for the city of Fulton and was replacing sewer mains.
The department said when firefighters arrived, the worker was buried from the waist down in a 12 foot deep trench dug by contractors.
After 90 minutes of work, crews were able to pull the worker out and took him to University Hospital. The worker had non life-threatening injuries.
