FULTON - The Fulton Fire Department responded to a residential structure fire at 206 Addison Street.
Upon arrival of the first engine company, heavy smoke and flames was showing from the rear of a one and a half story residential structure with a detached shed heavily involved with flames.
Fire personnel with an aggressive fire attack used multiple hose lines with large amounts of water to bring the fire under control. Fire personnel were able to control the fire within 20 to 30 minutes. No smoke detectors were present inside the structure.
Occupants were grilling on the deck earlier in the night and embers fell below the deck igniting stored building materials under the deck.
The fire was determined to be accidental in nature. All occupants were able to escape, however, one occupant had a minor injury to his hand and was treated at the scene. A fire personnel was also treated at the scene for heat exposure.
Damages were estimated at $60,000 to structure and contents.
Fulton Police Department and Missouri State Highway Patrol were on scene and assisted with traffic control and manpower.
