COLUMBIA - A 20-year-old Fulton man was sentenced Monday in connection with a 2012 murder.

Larrell M. Banks was sentenced Monday to 10 years in prison for his involvement in the March 2012 shooting death of 39-year-old Lamont Sargent. Banks was charged with hindering prosecution of a felony and distribution of a controlled substance. Original charges included second-degree murder, but that charge was dropped.

Prosecutors said the shooting occurred during a drug deal.

Currently, 21-year-old Durantrae D. Logan of Columbia is serving 20 years in prison for his involvement in the murder of Sargent. Logan was charged with second-degree murder and armed criminal action and pleaded guilty in Boone County Circuit Court on August 6.
