FULTON - Fulton Public Schools officials said Tuesday the district will add five elementary and middle school teachers for the 2013-2014 school year.
Superintendent Jacque Cowherd said the funding will come from local taxes and state funding. Cowherd said he could not confirm the money that is supposed to be allocated from the state to fund the new hires, nor when this information would be available. But he said he already hired the teachers because student enrollment has increased.
Cowherd also said Fulton's early childhood education system identified more children with special needs. As a result, he hired two kindergarten special education teachers.
