Future of Transportation
Officials from across the state are gathering in Jefferson City today to discuss funding for the state's transportation infrastructure. Modot Director Pete Rahn said current state and federal funding will likely run out in 2009. He also said operating costs are also increasing creating what he calls a potential perfect storm. A few of those ideas are toll roads, gas and sales taxes. The Missouri Senate will hold a hearing about transportation funding on July 31st.
