Garth Nature Dog Park Gets New Seating
COLUMBIA - Garth Nature Area dog park now has two new benches and gravel next to its lake after some park users complained the area had little seating.
Last week residents claimed parks and recreation took their chairs, windbreaks, and dog toys from the park. They left the items there for more than a year.
Parks and Recreation Director Mike Hood said the items were removed because of liability reasons. One resident said she talked with Hood after the incident and understood his reasons.
The residents said they are meeting with Parks and Recs after the holidays to discuss more renovation plans to the park.
Anyone wanting to discuss renovation plans for any of the parks should contact the Parks and Recreation Department.
