Gas Price Increases Due to Hurricane Issac

COLUMBIA - Hurricane Issac will bring rains to the state starting this weekend, but a lot of residents who need gas for their cars might feel the impact the hurricane makes on them ahead of time.

On Monday, more than 1.3 million barrels of daily gasoline refining capacity was shut down due to the storm, which creates a has shortage in many states.

Due to the shortage, people in many states, including Missouri have seen an increase in gas price these days. Yesterday, the gas price at Break Time gas stations was $3.65, but today it has increased to $3.79.

However, the price hike might not stop there. And people might see a higher gas price in the future due to the hurricane.
