Each person who met with Phelps has Olympic Medals of his or her own.
Phelps gave them time for questions and they gave back to Phelps by joining hundreds of other fans in the crowd to cheer him on during Saturday's meet.
"Yeah, you definitely hear them," Phelps said of the experience of the crowd noise while he swims. "It makes things more exciting. Without them cheering tonight it wouldn't have been a race like that."
Phelps broke the world record in the 200 fly with a speed of 1:53.71. His previous record was 1:53.80.
