Golden Girls Successful in Collegiate Dance Championships

ANAHEIM, CA --The University of Missouri Golden Girls Competition Team placed second in the Hip Hop division at the USA Collegiate Dance Championships, and the team also placed fourth in the Jazz division. Held on March 17 and 18, the USA Collegiate Dance Championships are held at the Anaheim Convention Center in Anaheim, California.

This is the second year that the Golden Girls Competition Team has competed in two different categories, and the team's combined overall ranking was the highest amongst all schools in the competition. Mizzou was one of only three schools that placed among the top five in both divisions.

Washington State edged out Missouri by one point to capture the Hip Hop Championship, while the third and fourth place trophies were awarded to San Diego State and the University of Oregon, respectfully. Idaho State rounded out the field in fifth place.

Just three points separated the top four teams in the Jazz division of the competition. Cal State Fullerton took first place, followed by Idaho State and San Diego State. Cal Poly San Luis Obispo placed fifth, behind the Tigers.
