Good Earth Egg Company issues egg recall

MISSOURI - Good Earth Egg Company, LLC of Bonne Terre announced it is issuing a voluntary recall on its shelled eggs.

According to the company the eggs can potentially be contaminated by Salmonella.

The recall includes the 6, 10, 12 and 18-count cartons, as well as the 15 and 30 dozen cases.

Consumers are advised to check the sell date for anything prior and including Oct. 8, 2016 with "Packed for" or "Produced for Good Earth Egg Company."

Some side effects of Salmonella include: fever, diarrhea, nausea, vomiting and abdominal pain.

The eggs were sold at Dierbergs, Straubs, Midtowne Market and Price Chopper.

Kansas and Illinois are also affected by the recall.
