COLUMBIA - Junior Linebacker Zaviar Gooden and Junior Defensive End Brad Madison were named to the Nagurski pre-season watch list on Friday. The Bronko Nagurski Trophy is given annually to the nation's most outstanding defensive player. This is the second watch list Gooden has been named to, after being named to the Bednarik Award watch list.

Gooden had a breakthrough season for the Tigers in 2010, when he led the team in tackles as a first-year starter with 85. Madison also had a breakout year in 2010, where he was named 2nd-Team All Big-12 for leading the Tigers with 11.0 tackless for loss and 7.5 quarterback sacks despite not being a full-time starter.

Other than Mizzou, Texas is the only other Big 12 school with two players on the Nagurski watch list.
