Gov. Nixon Appoints New Boone County Associate Circuit Judge
JEFFERSON CITY - Gov. Jay Nixon today appointed Michael W. Bradley, of Columbia, as the new Associate Circuit Judge for Boone County. The position in the 13th Circuit became available upon the appointment of the Honorable Christine Carpenter as Circuit Judge.
Bradley, a Democrat, currently serves as chief counsel for the Missouri Gaming Commission. Prior to that position, he was legal counsel to the Missouri Department of Public Safety and the Missouri State Highway Patrol. For 15 years, Bradley was a statewide special prosecutor for the Missouri Attorney General's Office.
A native of Carrollton, Bradley served as the county prosecuting attorney and as Associate Circuit Judge in Carroll County. His legal experience also includes operating a private law practice in Carrollton and serving as assistant city attorney for Kansas City.
Bradley obtained both his undergraduate and law degrees from the University of Missouri in Columbia.
"Mike Bradley's legal career is filled with exemplary public service to the people of Missouri," Gov. Nixon said. "His experience as a prosecutor, as a judge, as legal counsel, and as a private practice attorney will help him be a very capable judge for one of the state's largest counties. I am pleased to appoint him to the bench."
Saturday Bradley and his family will be at a recpetion. It has not been announced when he will be sworn in, but Boone County Courthouse says it will be this month.
