Gov. Nixon declares state of emergency due to potential flooding
JEFFERSON CITY — Gov. Jay Nixon declared a state of emergency Friday as severe storms could bring more flooding throughout the state.
Nixon said areas along the Missouri River and its tributaries in west-central Missouri are of particular concern.
The governor also urges residents of flood-affected areas to pay close attention to weather warnings and follow the instructions of local officials.
