Gov. Nixon Touting Development Measures
JEFFERSON CITY(AP) - Missouri Gov. Jay Nixon scheduled a full day of travel Wednesday to highlight his economic development priorities for a planned special session of the Legislature.
The governor's itinerary included a morning event in Springfield at Holloway America Manufacturing. Later, Nixon was traveling to the eastern Missouri town of Elsberry for an afternoon event at Forrest Keeling Nursery and Seeds.
Nixon plans to call a special legislative session in September focused on an economic development package that includes revamping the state's business incentives and boosting its technology and science sectors.
