Governor Nixon appoints new Boone County Treasurer
JEFFERSON CITY - Gov. Jay Nixon said Monday he appointed Columbia business owner Thomas Darrough as the new Boone County Treasurer, replacing Nicole Galloway, who was appointed state auditor in April.
Former Boone County Treasurer Kay Murray served as interim county treasurer.
Darrough is a Democrat who has owned and operated Tom Darrough Construction LLC since 2002. The company specializes in residential and commercial construction. Darrough also ownes Conlukeli LLC, a residential and commercial flooring installation company.
Darrough earned an undergraduate degree in business administration, with an emphasis in finance, from the University of Missouri - St. Louis.
Nixon said of Darrough, "I am confident he will continue the exemplary work done by Nicole Galloway and interim Treasurer Kay Murray in serving the citizens of Boone County."
Darrough's previous experience includes software management at Sprint, Corporate Express and Lanthier Programming and Consulting.
