Governor Nixon Heads to Iraq
Governor Nizon says their trip began Tuesday after visiting wounded soldiers in Washington, D.C., and meeting with Pentagon officials. The Defense Department won't let the governors say where they are going next. The other governors are from Minnesota, Massachusetts, South Dakota and Vermont.
Top military officials indicated the U.S. will meet its goal of reducing troops to 50,000 by September 1.
Nixon was among five governors who took a similar trip last July to Iraq and Afghanistan.
