Graduates Get Best Job Market in 6 Years
They are entering the best job market in six years. The National Association of Colleges and Employers reports businesses will hire 15 percent more college graduates this year than a year ago.
That's good news for the 4,500 Mizzou students who graduated this weekend, as well as their parents. Columbia has been flooded by families from all over who are in town for the ceremonies.
"I mean, that's the best part, that's the best part. For real," said biology graduate Chutney Harper. "I knew I was going to get the degree. But that's the best part, them being here and supporting me."
The National Association of Colleges and Employers also says salaries are six percent higher in some fields like liberal arts.
