Groundbreaking on New Railroad Bridge
OSAGE CITY - Gov. Jay Nixon will break ground on a new railroad bridge over the Osage River on Thursday.
The $22 million bridge will span 1200ft across the Missouri River and run adjacent to the existing Union Pacific Bridge.
He will join officials from the Missouri Department of Transportation, the Federal Railroad Administration, Union Pacific Railroad and Amtrak for the ground-breaking.
Officials hope the bridge will reduce delays on the Amtrak Route between Kansas City and St. Louis.
