Group Files Complaint Against Police
COLUMBIA - A group of 41 Columbia citizens is complaining about what they call a lack of restraint on the part of the Columbia Police Department.
It all goes back to the now infamous February search where Columbia Police Officers killed a dog. That video made it onto YouTube where it now has more than 1 million views.
The group is calling on the CPD to stop using search warrants when investigating any non-violent crimes. They also cite a 2004 Columbia law placing marijuana law enforcement low on the CPD's priority list.
