Hail Storm Roars Through Mid-Missouri
MID-MISSOURI - A fast moving, damaging hail storm roared through mid-Missouri around 4:00 p.m. The Boone County Fire Protection District reports power lines down in Midway and Sturgeon. The Columbia Public School system warned parents buses may be late if the bus driver needed to take safety precautions as the severe rain storm move through town.
In Boone County, the Office of Emergency Management (OEM) and Public Safety Joint Communications (PSJC) had several storm-related reports, but no major damage or injuries in Boone County. The PSJC received 125 9-1-1 calls within 90 minutes while the storm passed through Boone County.
Boone Electric Cooperative reported 658 homes and businesses without power in the Midway area. Crews are working on 19 separate outages affecting the customers.
