Hallsville Girls Basketball Heads to State
HALLSVILLE - The basketball floor at Hallsville Gymnasium has seen its fair share of games, but this season has been a little different than all the rest.
Junior forward, Lauren Little explains,"Whenever we get on the bus we have fans out there, whenever we get off the bus we have fans, our crowd is extremely loud, everyone talks about it at school."
Vitoria Little, who is also a junior forward added, "They just get us pumped up and they know how to get keep us going and it's awesome."
The crowd is so loud because it's the first time any girls basketball team from Hallsville has gone to the final four. But the girls haven't made history without hard work and focus. They've had one goal all along.
Senior guard, Taylor Dinyer said, "Our goal at the beginning of the season was to make it to districts so that's when all of the pressure was on us because we wanted to win the championship."
The Hallsville girls say they have been working to get this far for more than one season.
Senior guard, Carson Forge said "It's really exciting, like all the work we've put in the last three years and this year is just all coming true to be able to be in the final four."
The Hallsville Indians will take on the Hermann Bearcats in the Class 3 girls semifinals at the Hearnes Center Thursday at 1:40pm.
