Heat Advisory for First MU Football Game
COLUMBIA - Predicted temperatures for the first MU football game against Murray State Saturday are more than 90 degrees.
The Mizzou Athletics department said fans planning to attend the 6 p.m. game should take precautionary measures. Guidelines the department suggested are to wear loose-fitted clothing, use sunscreen, seek shade, drink plenty of fluids like water, avoid excessive consumption of alcohol and to go to a First-Aid station or notify the nearest personnel if help is needed.
Mizzou will provide double the amount of bottled water at concession stands, free cups of ice for fans who need to cool down, water jugs to spread throughout the east and west concourse for fans in need of hydration, misting stations around the north end of the stadium, officers and EMS to assist fans in need and permission to bring in personal water bottles.
The Mizzou Athletics department said to earn "pride points" by wearing gold, being responsible, arriving early, staying late, celebrating traditions and respecting the game.
