ST. LOUIS (AP) -- Two Missouri soldiers are among 14 U.S. soldiers who were killed when a Black Hawk helicopter crashed in northern Iraq yesterday. The two are identified as Ricky Bell from Caruthersville and Jessy Pollard from Springfield. Both were 21 years old.Ricky Bell was due home on leave September 13th. A family member says he had been in Iraq since June. A family member says Pollard was excited to pursue a military career and enjoyed jumping out of airplanes. The military says it appears the aircraft was lost by mechanical problems and not from hostile fire. A spokesman says the UH-60 helicopter went down before dawn in the province that surrounds Kirkuk, an oil-rich city 180 miles north of Baghdad. The Black Hawk had just picked up troops after a mission when it crashed.
