COLUMBIA- "Hello, Dolly" hits the stage tonight at Maplewood Barn Community Theatre. The popular Broadway musical tells the story of love, finding yourself and realizing your dreams.
"The shows at the barn are always a lot of fun," actor Jacob Huskey said. "There's really great people and it's exciting to see the show finally come to life."
The cast and crew of more than 50 have been practicing since the end of March for their performance.
Fire destroyed the theatre's 133-year-old barn in April 2010, but a new barn was rebuilt for the 2012 season. Despite the setback, crew members say attendance records were set after opening the new barn.
The musical performances are May 23-26 and 30, June 1-2 and 6-9. The box office opens at 7 each night and the performance starts at 8. Tickets are $9 for adults and $1 for children 10 and under.
The Maplewood Barn Community Theatre is located at 2900 E. Nifong Blvd.
