Hickman Boys Basketball Loses State Championship Game
COLUMBIA - The Hickman boys' basketball team fell to Christian Brothers College High School in the Class 5 State Championship Game by a score of 86-77 in overtime.
Hickman trailed most of the game, but the Kewpies managed to rally in the fourth quarter. Mason Murray capped off the rally with a three pointer with less than 30 seconds left to send the game into overtime.
But during overtime, it was the Jordan Barnett show. The future Texas Longhorn not only dominated the overtime period, but the entire game as he scored 43 points, pulled down 20 rebounds and blocked three shots in the game.
The Kewpies were led by Jimmy Whitt, who scored 29 points, pulled down seven boards and racked up seven steals. Chris Clark (18 points) and Douglas Johnson (16 points) also scored in double figures for the Kewpies.
Hickman finishes the season with a 27-3 record.
