KANSAS CITY - The president of the Hickman Mills Board of Education is resigning amid allegations of sexual misconduct in the workplace. David Bass was arrested October 1 on charges of harassing two 18-year-old women who worked for him at the marina at Longview Lake, where he was the administrator for Jackson County Parks and Recreation. Wednesday new allegations surfaced that the 55-year-old Bass harassed a school district employee. Bass is denying the claim, saying he resigned in an attempt "to get out of the limelight for my family." Bass has been on the school board since 2002, after serving a term from 1993 to 1996. He is scheduled to appear in Kansas City Municipal Court on January 8.
