High-speed chase suspect faces state and county charges
COLE COUNTY - The suspect in a high-speed chase down Highway 54 Thursday faces charges from two states and two counties.
The Cole County Sheriff's Department named Pearlie Bell as the suspect Friday.
According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, Bell's vehicle was linked to a home invasion in Kansas. MSHP located the car, a 2008 Pontiac Grand Prix, and said Bell led them on a high-speed chase eastbound toward Jefferson City.
The Cole County Sheriff's Department said Bell has been charged with resisting arrest and is being held on $25,000 bond. Kansas is charging her with aggravated burglary with no bond.
Bell is awaiting formal charges in Miller County as well.
MSHP said Thursday's chase exceeded speeds of 100 mph at times and the vehicle crossed over into opposite lanes of traffic at least once.
Troopers laid spikes at least twice. The front tires were damaged and eventually came off.
The chase ended between 179 and Route CC on Highway 54.
MSHP said Bell was taken to Capital Region Medical Center Hospital for minor injuries.
