Historical Photo Display Changing Locations
The Boone County Historical Society is showcasing photographs published in Oliver Schuchard's latest book, "The Landscape in Black and White."
"Oliver Schuchard is quite well-known in the area and nationally as well," said associate curator David Gold.
The exhibit features 50 of Shuchard's photos from around the world. He took the monochrome views of landscapes and nature starting in the late 1960s.
Wonderful nature photographer," added Gold, "primarily outdoors photographer."
Schuchard refuses to use a digital camera.
"I'm amazed and fascinated by the quality of his printing which he does, and always has done, himself," Gold said.
Schuchard's photographs end their two-month stay at the Boone County Historical Society next Monday. But, Schuchard's exhibit at the State Historical Society of Missouri opens next Tuesday in Columbia, and he'll be there to sign copies of his new book.
