Holifield Arrested for Marijuana Possession, Kicked Off Team
COLUMBIA -- KOMU 8 has learned former Mizzou football redshirt freshman tight end Brandon Holifield was arrested Sunday morning by the Missouri State Highway Patrol for being in possession of marijuana. Holifield was pulled over around 1:12 a.m. for speeding (69 mph in a 55 mph zone).
Upon investigation, the Missouri State Highway Patrol also discovered Holifield was not carrying his drivers license and was in possession of less than 35 grams of marijuana. Holifield was arrested and was taken to the Boone County Jail, where he posted bond.
Earlier this season, Holifield was suspended for Missouri's game against Vanderbilt for being involved in another drug related incident with members of the team. Team spokesperson Chad Moller confirmed to KOMU that Holifield was kicked off the team on Wednesday due to a violation of team policies.
