How to Watch KOMU and mid-Missouri CW Using an Antenna
COLUMBIA - In order for Mediacom subscribers to receive KOMU and the CW, viewers will need to have a digital TV set or an analog TV with a digital-to-analog converter box. In both cases, viewers will need an outdoor rooftop antenna or indoor antenna.
It is important that your antenna be able to receive VHF channels (channels 2-13). Consumers should be aware that even if they use a digital-to-analog converter box, they will still need to use an antenna to receive DTV signals. By using indoor antenna to receive signals on VHF channels, viewers may need to use an antenna with amplification.
Digital-to-analog converter boxes and digital TVs have a button, usually on the remote control, that is labeled "set-up" or "menu" or some similar term. Press that button to access the set-up menu. Using the directional arrow buttons on your remote, scroll to the option that allows you to search for KOMU (channel 7) and the CW (channel 5). Consult the owner's manual of the digital-to-analog converter box or digital TV for detailed instructions on how to perform a channel scan for the device.
In many cases, simply adjusting the antenna's location can improve reception. Viewers can slowly move the antenna higher or lower, and side to side to find a better signal. The owner's manual will give specific instructions on how to use the signal strength meter to find the best signal.
