Hundreds flock to Missouri Capitol for Inaugural Ball
JEFFERSON CITY - Gov. Eric Greitens and other newly sworn in officials talked about change all day Monday at the Inauguration. But the hundreds of people who attended the Inaugural Ball said some traditions, like that one, should stay the same.
People from all over the state flocked to the Capitol steps Monday night to celebrate the state's new leadership.
Inauguration Day also attracted state troopers from all corners of Missouri, totaling 250 Highway Patrol to help with security Sunday and Monday.
One woman from Sedalia said she and her husband went to the ball to show their support for new officials.
"It's just a time that I think all Missourians need to come together and support the people that are going to be taking care of our state and doing the things that we need them to do," Joyce Furnell said.
Officials said after Monday night's fun festivities, Tuesday means business in Missouri.
