Husband and wife arrested for burglary in Columbia
COLUMBIA - Boone County Sheriff's deputies arrested a husband and wife in Columbia around 7 a.m. Friday after finding what they believe to be stolen items in their hotel room.
Raymond and Ronda Scharf were taken into custody from the Budget Host Inn. Items found in their room are believed to be linked to two separate Columbia burglaries.
Those two burglaries were on Honey Lane at Highway VV and Lansing Avenue in Columbia.
Ronda Scharf was released after posting $9,000 bond and faces two charges of felony stealing. Raymond Scharf hasn't had his bond set yet. He faces two counts of burglary, one count of stealing, one count of felon in possession of a firearm, and one count of property damage.
The Sheriff's Department and Columbia Police Department are continuing to investigate and said additional charges against the couple are possible.
