Hy-Vee to begin filling pet prescriptions
COLUMBIA - Hy-Vee announced Tuesday it will expand pet medication services to all of its pharmacies.
All Hy-Vee stores throughout the companies eight states can fill pet-specific medications. The company said it has been filling pet medications like antibiotics and allergy medications for years, but the new service has been expanded to include flea and tick medications, heartworm medicine, and other pet medications.
"This unique, value-added service is the latest way Hy-Vee is making life a little easier and more convenient for our customers," said Kristin Williams, Hy-Vee's senior vice president of pharmacy operations. "Now our customers can pick up their pet's medications while picking up their own medications or groceries for the week."
Hy-Vee said customers who want to use the service can ask their veterinarian for a prescription for their pet and then bring it to Hy-Vee to be filled.
Customers can also automatically fill their pets' prescriptions through Hy-Vee's Repeat Refill program.
