JEFFERSON CITY - An accident at the intersection of Dunklin Street and Jefferson Street injured two people Monday morning.
According to the Jefferson City Police Department, officers were dispatched around 7:11 a.m. when a Mercury Sable travelling north struck a Honda Element heading west. The department said the Mercury Sable stopped at a solid red light then proceeded through the red light into the intersection and struck the Honda Element The Honda was then pushed sideways and struck a fire hydrant and utility pole then finally came to a rest on its roof.
The Honda, driven by 35-year-old Christopher Hubbard of Jefferson City, was totaled and the Mercury, driven by 78-year-old Thomas Asel of Jefferson City, had severe damage.
Both drivers had minor injuries.
