Your View will air Sunday nights during the 10 p.m. news.
As your Ombudsman, also known as a viewer advocate, Your View is designed to put you closer to KOMU News.
"The concept is for people to feel like they have someone to go to. If they have a complaint or a question, they have someone who will listen. That it won't be ignored or piled up with a lot of other comments or something like that," explained KOMU New Director Stacey Woelfel.
"Making this connection between journalist and the public is really important in increasing the credibility of the journalist and also making a better journalist by giving them something to think about, " said Missouri School of Journalism dean, Dean Mills.
Your View will respond to questions, comments, complaints and compliments.
Viewer Jason Webb writes "I've been to other channels websites, and I find that you guys there at KOMU have a lot better understanding of what we want. I appreciate the information you guys provide us. Your website is set up to find anything I am looking for."
And another viewer named Porter writes "The new format is great, however, the webpage needs to be updated frequently during the day. Also, helpful news bulletins needs to be put on the webpage, for instance the wreck on I-70 this morning, is not on the front page of the webpage. I don't always get to listen to the radio at work, but do get to look at the local news periodically during the day. Breaking news stories would be very appreciated."
Sometimes, we will try to give answers and explanations.
Sometimes, we will simply let your view stand alone.
Journalism is a complicated process.
We value your ideas, even if we may not agree with them.
