Investigators Determine Cause Loveall Fire
BOONE COUNTY - Investigators with the Boone County Fire Protection District said Friday they have determined the cause of a fire that burned down Loveall RV's last month. Battalion Chief Gale Blomenkamp said an electrical cord running from the building to an RV caused the fire. Blomenkamp said fire caused $1.75 million worth of damage, making it one of the worst fires Boone County has ever seen.
Due to the size of the fire, the department had to call in an electrical engineer from the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives to determine the cause.
Business owner David Duffy said he is planning to rebuild the building. Duffy said he hopes to have it done by May. Currently, the business is using a portable building and an RV as an office.
Duffy is staying optimistic about the incident and said the new building will be a little bit bigger and better.
