Iowa State Upsets Kansas

AMES, IA -- The Iowa State Cyclones shocked the No. 5 Kansas Jayhawks 72-64 on Saturday.

Royce White led Iowa State (15-6, 5-3 Big 12) with 18 points, nine rebounds, and five assists, as the Cyclones sent the Jayhawks to their first loss in Big 12 play this season. Kansas had five players in double figures, including leading scorer Tyshawn Taylor, who had 16.

Tyrus McGee completed a three-point play to give Iowa State the lead with 6:07 left. The Cyclones never trailed again, as Chris Babb hit a game-icing three-pointer with 55 seconds left to put Iowa State up by eight.

The sellout crowd of 14,376 stormed the court as the Cyclones notched their first win against a top five team since it last beat Kansas in 2005.

Kansas is now only one game ahead of Mizzou and Baylor in the Big 12 Standings. The Jayhawks visit Mizzou Arena on Saturday, February 4 as part of ESPN GameDay.
