COLUMBIA - Jake Walsh and Keaton Steele had their names called on the final day of the Major League Baseball Amateur Draft.
Walsh was selected in the 34th round by the Washington Nationals. He was the 1.036th overall pick. The redshirt Junior led the Tigers with 30 appearances out of the bullpen. He finished the season with a record of 2-2 with an ERA of 4.19 in 34.1 innings pitched.
Steele was selected in the 40th round by the Kansas City Royals. He was the 1,194th overall pick. The Junior finished the season by earning first team All-SEC honors at the designated hitter spot. He hit .276 with 5 home runs and 24 RBI. On the mound he finished the season with a 5-3 record and a 2.83 ERA.
Both Walsh and Steele will have the option to either sign with the teams that drafted them or return to Mizzou for their senior season.
