JEFFERSON CITY - Jefferson City Police responded to two shots fired calls early Sunday morning.

According to a Jefferson City Police department press release, an officer was patrolling near the 2300 block of Industrial Dr. when he heard a gunshot fired near the area of Club Motivation at 2425 Industrial Dr.

Upon arriving at the club, the officer heard several more shots and saw a large crowd and several vehicles in the parking lot.

Witnesses said a black SUV occupied by three individuals had just left the area, and that the occupants were responsible for shooting at a club employee. Officers pursued the vehicle but could not immediately locate it. No one was injured by the shots.

At 4:24 a.m., Jefferson City Police Communications received a report of a single vehicle injury accident in the 200 block of Booneville Road. The vehicle was a black SUV. One injured occupant was still on scene, but two others had already fled.

The injured man, Dwight Philip Morgan, 31, of Jefferson City, was arrested for 1st Degree Assault, Unlawful Use of a Weapon, Armed Criminal Action and Resisting Arrest. He was treated at a local hospital and then released into police custody and transported to the Cole County jail pending charges.

A police dog was able to track and flush out one of the fleeing indivduals. She was not arrested, and police are not releasing her name.

The other fleeing passenger is still at large. He is described as a black male in his 20s, approximately 6-feet tall, thin build, short hair, and wearing an American Eagle t-shirt.

JCPD recovered two firearms, several ounces of marijuana and a large amount of currency from the wrecked vehicle.

The second shots fired incident happened at 6:59 a.m. in the 1000 block of Elizabeth St.

According to a press release from the department, when officers arrived on scene, they saw a man sitting in a vehicle and another man walking up to the vehicle.

Officers searched both men and recovered a handgun and methamphetamine from the pants of Paulo Cunningham, 20, a Jefferson City resident and convicted felon. Charges of Possession of a Controlled Substance and Felon in Possession of a Firearm are being sought on him.

The second man, Jefferson City resident Sandalio Ingram, 29, was arrested for trespassing on Housing Authority property. Charges of 2nd Degree Trespassing are being sought on Ingram.

When officers searched the vehicle, they found a loaded shotgun with a spent shell in the firing chamber.

Officers took both men to the Cole County jail.
